Hi Julie! I'm a great fan of your writing, theory and designs so thanks for doing this AMA.
I was wondering, why did you make the decision to release Paper and Rooms only on iOS and not on Android? It seems an odd choice.
Thanks!
Tim

Same here - we have a Dropbox folder for each sprint with every asset for each taskforce which we update so that the latest assets are always accessible and there's no icon4finalv31blatest.png haha
Honestly? I'm genuinely surprised that anyone is handing developers PSD or Sketch files to cut assets out of. The only process I've ever done is to hand over the final cut, named and foldered png asset files at every size - this way I can ensure that all resolutions and images are being cut correctly and pixel perfect.
I hate the new Android Twitter app. Tis terrible.
Switchr is great for quickswitching between apps https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mohammad.adib.switchr Cloudmagic absolutely kicks ass even though Gmail is great https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloudmagic.mail VSCOcam for photo editing https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vsco.cam Pocket for offline reading https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ideashower.readitlater.pro Runtastic Heart Rate pro just cos it's such a great little app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.runtastic.android.heartrate.pro Google Keep for notes https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.keep Today is the best calendar widget by a mile https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.underwood.agenda Any.do purely for the missed call feature https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.anydo Those are my favourites anyway!
Thanks! That was totally the idea - I love the new Gmail and Google Maps for iOS apps, the design is flawless.
The face is the button for adding emoticons (the sideways-scrolling list of which would appear as a bar above the text entry bar) which I think people probably use a lot more than share location or photo (in my experience, but that's just me!) so I made it more visible. I could move the emoticon shortcut to the bottom bar and use that button as the 'expose' button possibly? Thanks for the compliments anyway :)
