By default, PhotoShop doesn't have a keyboard shortcut for this.

I have "create smart object from selection" set to a shortcut and find that invaluable.

One thing I do regularly but realised not everyone knows - hold down shift when dragging layers between files and they will retain their position in the new document.

Oh, and in preferences > general try changing the sampling to bilinear if you get weird outlining on smart objects.

Heh, cute. Reminds me of a similar thing I made, timetogomobile.js http://uberism.net/stuff/timetogomobile/

This would be ever so slightly better if the shine gradient went from rgba(229, 172, 142, 0) instead of rgba(229, 172, 142, 0.1) - this would prevent an outline of the bounding box when viewed in Safari - or when zoomed in closely in Chrome.

The descenders are a bit screwed in spotlight, but interesting to see the technique.

I'm using Flatdoc at the moment. It's pretty straightforward to setup, the basics just require some knowledge of markdown - and beyond that some html and css will get you some decent customisation.

I first saw it on the sparkcore docs which is a great example for it I think: http://docs.spark.io/hardware/

With some tweaking, I'm using it to display image mocks alongside notes, although in also planning to use it for api docs.

I use a Chrome plugin called "Awesome Screenshot". Does full page captures, and most of the time works well enough.

Still have not found an elegant solution to capturing parallax pages successfully.

    It's an Ellipsis.

Other than it's regular usage in text, I've not used it as a standalone menu icon, although by definition it's not entirely inappropriate.

I think leading the line all the way to the edge of the screen on the right helps to lead the eye to the edge of the screen also. And in some instances, you want this as it's the direction where more content is accessed. It also perhaps makes some sense to indent the line when an icon is present, more space, less tight. Centre aligned would look worse imo, as arrows or ticks on the right hand side would not align with it, and it wouldn't look as much like a button which leads to content on the right.

tbh I've never really noticed this :)
