I think it's very tasteful. I did find the text in the timeline very hard to read for both size and contrast, and a couple other areas I struggled a lot with text size (viewing on a larger screen). I do like navigation on the bottom, but it may be overlooked depending on your audience. Otherwise nicely done, congratulations.
Why is this in the site design category?
Cool password wall!
Whew, good question. They come up pretty naturally at different points of the process, all the way through launch and a bit beyond, so you always have to be ready for them. When they do come up, we typically will use potential severity as a means of determining priority. That's a dialogue that sometimes happens internally only, sometimes with the client, sometimes both. At some point you make a call on whether or not you're going to deal with it, and if so, how. But figuring it out always starts from what the impact might be, and potential frequency is further down the list but usually a factor, as well.
Wow
The new branding for Internet Corps of You're Doing it Wrong kicks ass!
So so on the site itself, I kind of agree with Jordan re. the scrolling issue. For anyone interested in this amazing piece of art, this podcast has a terrific hour on it http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09bxkdm
This looks good, thanks for putting together something inherently generous and goodwilled. My only suggestion is to minimize the introductory area. Hopefully people come back more than once, so seeing such a strong introductory area over and over loses value quite quickly.

I couldn't take the frenetic intro and bailed.
