Surface, sure, but they also have their eyes on Chromebooks these days.
Absolutely this. It's a small percentage of users, but a vitally important use case for them to support.
You're not mistaken. Here are some examples from a Reddit thread this weekend. The photo was taken in RAW, saved in Photoshop as PNG (lossless), then the PNG was exported as both a 100% PS JPEG and a Guetzli JPEG at q=95.
PNG version (30.1MB)
Photoshop JPEG version (13.4MB)
Guetzli version (8.16MB)
It's such a pronounced change that part of me wonders if the color profile is simply being dropped.
It honestly seems to me that most people are missing the point—that if someone influences what the design becomes, they are in effect designing it. That's not to say designers are important—in fact, he's saying the opposite. When an engineer tells you they've built something and new need your help "designing it", they were ultimately the designer for that project. Making design decisions independent of the designer on the team tends to weaken the end result. This is a defense of Design as a profession.

I've wondered if this might not be based on location, but age. Perhaps they boost the contrast as a person gets older?
Very excited for this! I was expecting a rewrite of Origami+QC, but this seems to go well beyond that. So far as I know, this is also the only tool available for high fidelity prototyping on Android. Great work, team!
Right there with you. Was a Kickstarter backer.
