Posted to Building a Complex Design System, in reply to E P , Oct 15, 2014 Agree. I also feel the need to build the tone of the system upfront. After that, all the individual components will have to speak the same "tone" to (hopefully) create an integrated system.
Each individual website was contracted as outsourcing, so there's no such thing as client design team. Which can be a good thing, since I'll have the opportunity to build my own team with the people I want.
The lead developer is a great friend and future partner in other projects also, so I'm well covered :)
