"Arrow icons are intended for disclosure affordances, but that should remain consistent for all arrow icons no matter which direction they point."

where is this rule coming from? are you sure users are aware of it?

"improving" is very opinionated here... i'm sure some would like to simply remove the max-width, but makes the comments much less legible.

safe to assume that the intense focus on "experiences" is a business shift in a post-COVID world, but i have no idea what "experiences" are or who wants this.

I am increasingly wary of the term “user centered design”. The word “user” has a second meaning — “consumer of drugs”

    1. It’s very easy to forget about the feed and paper trail

I'd also throw Clips into that bucket, which is even more buried. Very disjointed and hidden navigation.

One thing I've noticed is that isn't mentioned here is how none of this is built to scale once you've got a ton of mail. Maybe the intent is to simply have less in your inbox via screening? I doubt that will be the case after a month or year(s) of use.

curious how this will play out... all the giphy integrations out there could suddenly be trojans for facebook?
