  • Posted to Cmd-Option-R in Safari, how did I miss this handy feature?, Jan 08, 2016

This feature was shown during one of the sessions in last years WWDC. Every year they have handful of sessions dedicated to web development that are worth watching for every web developer / designer.

Whenever possible, deleting something should be two-way street. So delete could be done with single click, without any confirmations and later providing a undo option to undelete it. That would be a lot better user experience.

After this, captcha is still a worst UX experience there is. It is a work offloaded from handful of developers to all the users who must suffer and complete exercises in order to submit forms.

There are many ways to perform "negative captchas" that do the captcha the other way around -- detecting whether form was submitted by robots. Real humans should not have to do any tricks for simple form submissions.

I've been using simple hidden e-mail field trick for years and it catches around 95+% of robot submissions. If you combine it with additional statistical analysis, you get a pretty solid system without bothering real people.

  • Posted to Prompt 2 - From Panic, in reply to Taylor Lapeyre , Oct 09, 2014

Being responsible for handful of servers, I was very happy to see that Prompt 2 was released. It is the only decent SSH client in iOS landscape. For some reason Prompt 1 stopped working for me when upgrading to iOS 8.

I do not SSH into the servers on my phone normally for sure but having Prompt gives me a great peace of mind when going somewhere without a laptop. There have been several times i've resolved issues on the server by SSHing into it over the phone while being away from the desk.

It would be great to have these other modern workflow tools as well but the need for old-school tools do not disappear.

Love the sound effects on this. I've seen couple of these thingies around. They work well and look very nice.

Or get both and set up 302 permanent redirect from lennyxel.com to lennymartinez.com. Most domain name providers support this for free.
