'why would people want to use this'.

Umm, usually thats the actual end goal, and the experience desin part is making using that thing pleasant, not the reason for using it.

I enjoy a pleasant check out experience. A UX designer helped ensure that.

I don't check out on a website BECAUSE it will be pleasurable. A UX designer can influence the check out but I will not be checking out solely because they've done their job.

that article, has a person with a joke title thats more commentary on unreasonable requests (unicorn) as having less responsibilities than an actual role. and even the explanation in the comments misses the reason its called unicorn.

It seems like a periodic table gone wrong. I appreciate the idea, but I have a very very good feeling this design went wrong, but due to budget constraints or head creatives who outstayed their welcome, were forced to continue down this path, regardless of how questionable it ended up.

Aside from design critique Publicis is one of the largest forces in advertising. Sapient is their digital strategy arm now thats been renamed shuffled and repurposed due to the agency model falling a bit more out of favor.

I mean I don't like it, but it wasn't made for fame. Fun is allowed in design.

Ideally if the word is gendered, you switch from a gendered word to one that isn't. So instead of ballsy, risky, daring, stupid, silly, adventurous, There are an endless amount of alternatives that aren't gendered, switching to a 'female' version would actually be worse.

Very different for game manufacturers. Cardboard AR isn't anything new, but its interesting to see Nintendo play in this area. I'd love to see this in practice and see how far nintendo takes this but I honestly would have been more interested in seeing a toy manufacturer handle it with a smartphone as opposed to a console. The price of entry is exceedingly high for what may be abandoned relatively quickly, luckily the switch itself is a great device.

Conceptual procedural animations for events and stuff.

It's really cool, but I'm a little disappointed it only displays text based work.

Unfortunately a lot of these cross over into all recruitment attempts in all industries.

The weight of typeface in that specific typeface on page makes it feel very default for some reason. Lack of caps doesn't help.

I can't say I agree with the size and type choice of the copy.
