  • Posted to Ask DN: Are you using Gmail for Work?, Apr 08, 2015

I say do it - it's easier to schedule thing with Google Docs, especially with people outside the company. Plus, Gmail is an easy email client to begin with. I think it makes sense especially bc Google integrates with many other useful apps making collaboration and productivity more seamless as well.

  • Posted to Ask DN: What do you care about most when considering a job offer?, Jan 21, 2015

Oh that's easy, for me the most important thing is whether or not I can relate and care about their product. If yes than everything else comes in like team dynamic, remote work etc. I don't have to be best friends with the people I work with - they just have to be polite and stand-up 'guys'. As long as I care about what the company is doing everything else will fall into place. I see myself sleeping in interest and worth ethic if I don't.

I didn't think I'd need see Lyft's number as I find their interface very straightforward. I never said these were hard facts just what I noticed after researching many apps myself.

  • Posted to Do I need to buy an iOS device to design iOS apps? , Jul 12, 2014

No. Don't buy an iPad if you are working with iPhone simply because it's a different experience. Although they have similar features, gestures etc you use an iPhone differently than an iPad. You would use an iPhone just about anywhere. Say you are waiting at a bus stop. You'd use the iPhone to play games, text and what not. While an iPad you wouldn't be able to use in a crowded bus while standing. Those those the biggest distinctions between the two. It matters how and where people use the two devices.

I believe you can opt out from the double opt-in in MailChimp. I'm pretty sure I don't use it on my mailing lists specifically because it's just terrible.

  • Posted to Ask DN: What are you looking at in a design job?, Jun 09, 2014

I was trying to hire a replacement for my position at my previous company and it proved to be difficult. We basically 'ab tested' the job posting tweaking them slightly too see if it was the job roles that turned off the applicants - we had 4 different posts, one for a ui designer, ux designer, ixd, etc witch slightly different requirement and description. I than focused on the actual posting, making sure it was very descriptive and informative about the company and the position. I hope this helps as I don't exactly know what problem you are facing exactly - there could be a few.
