Finding an external monitor that can rival the color and quality of the Macbook Pro is tough. I fought for months and finally found two monitors worth keeping.

Dell P2715Q It's a 27" 4K monitor that has amazing color and sharpness. It's the perfect companion to my Retina screen. I use this every day at work.

Dell UltraSharp U3415W Insanely wide monitor that has great color and nearly the same sharpness as 4K. I use this at home and love the extra workspace I can fit on the screen.

Either of these two will help satisfy your main requirements; color calibration and accuracy. Don't let your boss cheap out on a monitor, after all you spend most of your time staring at it.
