I guess it would be more educative to build the stack by yourself (like creating EC2 instances, dealing with loadbalancing and autoscaling group, and so on) in order to see how elastic beanstalk really work. Anyway, nice article :)

I'm working on a 13" MBP for almost 2 years now. This screen size is awesome to work on your commute or while travelling. Though, working all day will be harsh. You're gonna want some space to work properly and fill comfortable. The solution is to use an external device at home/work and enjoy it when going out.
