  • Posted to Ask DN: What's your daily schedule?, Mar 31, 2015

Setting up a schedule was probably the best thing I've done for my freelancing self. My unorganized mess of tasks often left me paralyzed and apathetic but once I made dedicated room for all of my desired accomplishments I got much more effective and calm.

    • 6 – Wake up, make breakfast, check email, decide 3 MIT:s.
    • 7 – Commute to work, think of nothing
    • 8 – Have one hour developer related learning
    • 9 – Work on developer related MIT:s
    • 11 – Check email and do bundled up small tasks
    • 12 – Lunch + walk
    • 1.30 – Draw a story for leaveastory.com
    • 3 – Work on drawing related MIT:s
    • 6 – Spend time with friends/work out/have dinner
    • 10 – Sleep

The hardest part is the lunch walk. At least on days like yesterday when it rained sideways.

I mostly follow rad illustrators and these are some of my favorites:

I allow myself to work on personal projects a few hours every day. I used to get stressed out when work was piling up and I didn't have time for any excess designing but including private project-time in my everyday schedule did the trick for me. To me, my own projects are equally important as commission work.

    • Leave a story

    • I draw pictures in exchange for stories.

    • I started it because someone once said that you have to put in 10 000 hours in order to become really good at something. This is my attempt in evolving as an illustrator.

I agree. It sure looks promising but I'd like to see more pictures.

I don't know if it qualifies but I made a find five faults-advent calendar for my fiveyearold nephew:

  • Posted to Ask DN: What is your workout routine?, in reply to Henry Bayuzick , Nov 21, 2014

I have a friend who's recently started CrossFit and it sure seems to be an awesome community where everyone looks out for and encourages one another. Maybe this is where I get the 'team-feeling' without having to be in an actual sports team.

Thanks for the advice. I'm kind of impatient so it's good to know that this is something that requires some patience before I go there.
