  • Posted to Sketch Copy and Paste, now in Framer, Mar 09, 2018

Just waiting for Framer to support dev collaboration (css inspect mode etc.) and then I think I can cancel my Sketch license and subscription to Figma. Great job Framer!

Very curious about why Typeform took such a different approach in its visual communication (somewhat in line with Dropbox). My guess is that they are trying to go after consumer market so they made the brand look a bit more approachable and less techy. Does anybody have other thoughts? Any internal info about this @Ennio?

  • Posted to Framer shares a first look at their all-new screen design tool, Dec 14, 2017

I've recently designed a couple of desktop screens directly in Framer and these are exactly the bits that I was missing. Great job Framer team, can't wait to get my hands on it!

Incredible tool! We're using it for months now and it's a tremendous help to find the weak spots or recognize the behavioral patterns that require our attention.

I think it's should be contextual -- all app-related controls are at the top. If there's an overlap with default system controls (e.g. Save Image As...), there should be a way to override it and put it to the top with other app-related controls.

From Slovakia, working in San Francisco.

First I worked remotely for a year from Prague (CZ), then I was on J-1 for 10 months and I've transferred to H-1B just recently. One hell of a ride.

  • Posted to Ask DN: is this design plagiarism? - Apple vs Dyson, Sep 04, 2014

    TL;DR

They didn't show the fundamental principle of design -- how it works in real life.

Apple made the whole nice technical walkthrough because customers are usually very nerdy and geeky (in a good sense). They like to know all the underlying technologies running their computer, esp. when considering buying a machine like that. It was a way how to impress them.

I'm not sure if Dyson potential customers are the same. I know they care about the design and how it works but I doubt they are really into all new Dyson Technology™ described in detail without actually seeing how it performs. Visually nice but for me, the site didn't deliver the sense of real value.

It should rather have "Unpopular Photos" section instead of popular ones. Designers usually try to avoid using photos that are all over the web.
