Hi Debbie, I've been a big fan of 'Design Matters' for quite a while. 'Design Matters' was one of the reasons I'm in IXD at SVA :)

Where do you see design education headed? As Peter mentioned elsewhere, there are a lot of people switching to a design career with varied backgrounds. How often do you think that education should change to reflect the changing demographics and industries?

I've been using Drama since their Beta launch and I gotta say that they have a solid foundation. The team has been super responsive to feedback and have addressed most of the smaller niggles. They're iterating at a rapid pace and if they are able to deliver on their roadmap, they might as well overtake Sketch + Principle as THE all-in-one-design tool of choice for most designers.

Given their past, I wouldn't be surprised if Invision acquires Figma!

I love the Enterprise bit. I've worked in a Medium-Large Enterprise before and the best they've gotten at versioning design files is using Dropbox. Design was at its nascent stages inside the org itself but it was important to establish the processes right away so that as the team gets bigger, they are better equipped at handling changes and don't have to point fingers.

Also, given that we were handling NDA'd projects across multiple enterprise clients, having to pay for multiple services (Dropbox/Box/Google Drive etc) depending on the project was getting increasingly difficult. With Abstract and Plant, it was easier for the design team to track and update changes in a single place as they moved teams.

They've mentioned in the article that they're looking at introducing light-weight editing in the future. With a product so heavily reliant on Sketch, I'd love to see them work closely with other tools and incorporate their features.

Used it for a couple of hours on a 50MB file with >1000 screens. No crashes. Zoom behavior is super-fast. So far so good!

  • Posted to What has been your experience with WebFlow?, Nov 12, 2018

I'd highly recommend Webflow. In my earlier org, we used Webflow for almost everything. We used it design & build part of the internal ERP/HRMS/Project Mgmt system over a period of 3 months. It only took a couple of days to get acquainted with the controls. Once you setup your classes/components, you can build entire pages in a matter of hours.

There are certain features that are lacking but you can always keep track of the wishlist to what's coming on the roadmap.
