But really there are actually quite a few different ways of classifying typefaces. Serif and sans serif are the broadest categories.
You can get more specific with calligraphic, humanist, neo-humanist, didone, etc.
If you want more information on typeface classification I recommend The anatomy of Type by Stephen Coles.

This looks so much better! I think the switch to Georgia makes your body copy much more legible

It's not just you. The name of the typeface is playfair display. It wasn't intended for small sizes.
If you read the notes on Google it recommends you substitute the body text with Georgia.
