I've been using ASmallOrange since November, after they offered an awesome Black Friday deal. Not looking back. Great customer service, very competitive prices, never had any downtime – that I noticed – and super easy to use control panel.

From what I know, the only way you could do that is by getting an O1 visa with an agent. Work visas (Such as the H1-b) require a sponsor, meaning you have to work solely for that sponsor or transfer to another one, hence you won't be freelancing.

As Rasmus said, the immigration issue here is quite hard to deal with, so make sure that's what you want to do.

    Hope it helps

A friend of mine did something similar with his favourite videogame characters. You can't see the same evolution you show in your process, since it's more of a consistent visual language throughout, but it's still a very praiseworthy task.

L-1's are only for intracompany transfers. He needs to have a job at a company in Australia that wants to transfer him to a US based location.

Assuming he is Australian, the possibilities of getting a working visa are way easier (E3)

If there is, I haven't heard of. It seems like a feasible idea tho. It's funny that selfhosted bookmarks is what we have been doing ever since Favorites appeared!

One of the biggest drawbacks of all these great products coming out is that most of them either die or get acquired by others that shut them down. Then, they offer this 'export-to-whatever' feature that highly likely won't be fully compatible with the next bookmarking tool you may end up finding.

Is there a solution for this? Happened to Zootool, now Icebergs. You build up a really solid bookmarks library and then you need to take your 'data box' and find a new spot.

Don't get me wrong, I met César last year on the Icebergs early days and I'm really happy for them, they are a great team and they have put a lot of hours into their project. They deserved success. However, I'm bummed that they are closing it, it is a really nice product. Let's hope Pinterest adds their features!
