Hi Benjamin! Thanks for the feedback.
As you can imagine, we did some pretty serious usability testing for a launch this huge. We found in testing that users weren't having any trouble finding the play controls and that the color we're using for primary actions are making sense to people. That being said, I'm sure we'll have the opportunity in the future to rethink our color palette and we'll keep your feedback in mind when we do that.
We've had some bugs in the past around font anti-aliasing and this might be related to that. Our font stack on NPR.org includes a few weights of Gotham, Knockout, Georgia & Helvetica so I don't think it's a Lato specific problem. I'll flag this as a bug for us to take a look at anyhow.
As far as the show pages go, we have some stories in the coming cycles to take a look at the visual design of those pages.
Thanks again for the feedback and keep an eye out in the next few weeks for more improvements!
Thank you for the kind words, Elliott!
I'll talk to the team about desktop notifications! We haven't thought of that yet, but that would be super helpful when listening to the player in a background tab. We're working on NPR One integration! Keep an eye out for that in the next couple of weeks.
Thanks Mattan! I think this is a bug. I've added it to our punchlist. Should be fixed in the next couple of days.
It has been foretold that this is the first step of many leading up to some very cool stuff involving audio on NPR.org. Thanks for sharing!
Like my soul:
These are gorgeous! Looking forward to more.
Welp, that was uncalled for.
As a former citizen of Ur, this made me smile.

Hey y'all.
A couple of friends asked if they could check out my prototyping stack so I cleaned it up over the weekend.
If you end up trying it out for your own web prototypes, I'd love some feedback! Especially around the installation and initial build steps. I've seen some weird bugs there.
Thanks!
