Justin, if you decide to work with a local document, you can copy paste components between documents. When you make changes to the source document, the consuming document will notify you about available updates.

The only difference in functionality while using components from a local and cloud doc is how you access them. If the source document is a cloud doc then you can easily add it to any/new doc via the Assets Panel. If the source document is local, then you need to manually copy paste your components from it.

We will support multiple gestures including scroll as a trigger. With our monthly update cycle, you’ll see some of these features over the next year.

Auto-Animate is our first step towards supporting more advanced prototying in XD. We will be adding more features that provide control over easing, sequencing and choreography.

    Hey Riho,

I'm one of the Product Managers on the XD team. Firstly, thank you for those kind words and detailed summary. I really appreciate you taking the time to help us understand what currently blocks you from adopting XD.

While the team leverages Uservoice to influence our product strategy, we also rely on a couple of other mediums to help prioritize the features we build. Sometimes the smallest of features take the longest to deliver. Be rest assured that this is only because the team building XD is very passionate about performance, quality and the overall experience.

For the features you've mentioned, the team is actively working on several of those. We are investing in enhancing the text options and properties in XD which should cover transforms, last used fonts etc. Upcoming updates should make you happy!

Symbols is another key area where you should see updates pretty soon. Starting with the ability to resize a Symbol.

We do plan on adding more features like enhanced strokes, shadows, blend modes, blurs and responsive design.

You can use the assets panel in XD to curate and reuse colors, character styles and symbols within a document. Additionally you can also use the context menu to copy and paste an appearance across elements. Hope this helps solve the challenge around reusing styles in XD. If not, I would love to hear why.

For the PSD workflow, I would recommend using CC Libraries. You can add the graphic from Ps into XD using the CC Library window. When you edit this graphic in Photoshop, it will seamlessly update in XD. This is the best possible way to have a linked graphic from Photoshop in XD.

Again, thank you for the feedback!

    Hi Adrian,

I completely understand the importance of being able to prototype form elements in XD. Its lower in priority only because we have a couple key foundational pieces we would like to deliver first.

As we make progress on the foundational features, we will continue to work on adding support for form elements, gestures and more advanced prototyping capabilities.

    Thank you,

    Hi Adam,

The team is working on adding cross document capabilities for symbols, colors and character styles. I understand how important it is to be able to share assets between XD documents as well as across other applications in Creative Cloud, I can assure you that we have this on our roadmap.

  • Posted to AMA: What’s Next for Adobe XD?, in reply to Luca Vavassori , Nov 29, 2017

    Luca,

Thank you for taking the time to list out those feature requests. I can assure you that while we add new features, we will continue to invest in improving and enhancing existing ones.

Symbols: At the heart of the Symbol workflow, we believe that overrides and management is key to building a strong component driven workflow. In order to accelerate those workflows, we are investing in the following: 1. Ability to resize a symbol and preserve size overrides 2. Ability to swap symbols and nested symbols 3. Ability to label, reorder and merge symbols

Assets: With the MAX release, we enabled designers to curate assets from their current document. We are now focused on enabling designers to build a shared vocabulary for those assets. In order to do so, we are investing in: 1. Search and filtering 2. Label, reordering, merging

    And more ...
