Posted to What the iOS 7 share button should look like, in reply to Matt Kelsh , Jul 07, 2013 It doesn't make sense in static screenshots but when you actually use it I think it's far easier to understand than the previous icon. The new one indicates that when you press it that a menu will slide up from the bottom, which it does. The old one didn't really have any relevance. To me it looked like some kind of 'open in new window' button.
That being said, it doesn't work as well on the iPad as the menu doesn't slide up.
And honestly does anyone really think Apple would just change the icon for the sake of it? They could of easily made the edges thinner to fit in with iOS 7 but they didn't because they think every change through and choose the best one.
