The biggest problem is their Fusion Drive. It the biggest cr*p they have invented and lead to a lot of problems to my previous iMac 5k. If you have enough experience build a Hackintosh, serves me with joy every day.

Well the first test showed the expected results. It is okay for something quick or objects with clear cut edges, but if you have some serious complicated objects like hair, you better do it by your own in Photoshop.

  • Posted to What's the best font manager right now? I'm tired of SkyFonts..., Oct 17, 2018

I used Rightfont for years, but there price and license management is kind of strange. The brought Version 4 out, an "upgrade" which could have been just an 3.1 update (see https://www.producthunt.com/posts/rightfont-4) and forcing it to buy it because it came with an auto-update. Also the performance was getting worse so I switched to https://typefaceapp.com/

  • Posted to Does anyone still use RSS readers? Looking for feedback!, Aug 02, 2018

Every single day. I use Reeder + Feedly aswell. Reeder wasn't updated for a long time but it has all the features it needs. The most I like about it is the gestures it supports via Magic Mouse and Trackpad (pull to mark all as read or swiping left and right do go into a article or leave it) also it is nice that those gestures are the same on iOS!

I also have tried Leaf which is also making a good job.

Feedback to your design: I love the colors you chose and also nice that you try to adopt those new rounded-corner boxes from iOS 11/12. But while it should be an RSS app it is important to me to have the feed as comprimised as possible. It is good to have only the headline in the feed list and at most 1-2 lines of the article. Of course there are some good feeds I read every article from but of the most I never read through all of the posts. I skimm the headlines and images in order to decide what I could be interested in. So feedback to your design would be: shrink the height of the feed items to an extreme. The preview-images are too huge for my taste. Half the size would be enough.

The article view turned out very well. The font-size is maybe a bit to small but I can't judge it from that screenshot. Keep going! Wish you much success in further development.

  • Posted to A year later... Are there any alternatives to Ember, Jan 20, 2016

Well nearly another year later, I tried really all of those mentioned Apps. But I stayed now on Pixave. It's possibility to put the library into a cloud provider, the feature to make interconnected folders/collections, huge meta info viewer, tags, auto color fetcher, live filter, more than enough share, save, filter and export options and the really nice UI convinced me.

What I'm really missing an browser extension but it is possible to add images via drag&drop or copy&paste from the browser window into pixave. But would be nicer to have a one-click option inside the browser.
