Does the BenQ monitor which you have mentioned match up with a retina display. Is the text as crisp as retina on the BenQ.
Learning design by Copying someones design is a good idea to sharpen your design skills. But it also helps of you try to understand whats the design all about. For example, if you view a website daily and try to understand whats the website about, whats the concept behind the design if any. It will help you hone your skills. The other stuff you are talking about like best way to design for multiple device sizes, resolutions, etc are all easy to understand and will not take much off your time. Even if you look at some open source files you will understand the basics.
Yes it seems like. The Day sketch releases anything new all the figma lovers come on board to discuss how great is figma. :). But if you look at the facts Sketch is still the go to tool for UI design.
Your below mentioned blog post is truly inspiring http://www.nextbigme.com/how-i-changed-my-life-with-side-projects
I had asked this question previously but did not get much answers over here. I think the best place to sell UI kits would be UI8.net, Creative mint, Design modo.
But first thing first to test waters you can have a sample kit made with few elements and post it on websites which provide free resources like Sketchappresources. Once you understand the market then it would be much easier to sell you stuff.
Also note you have to look into the trends that are in now and design your UI kit accordingly. Hope this helps :)
Nice results :)
We generally design for 1388x768 resolution. Since this is the most common resolution used for laptops.
I have the problem even before Mojave. Even the Menubar attached below looks pixelated.
I too have a similar monitor at home. How the text appear on the same. Since when i use the same monitor with my mac book pro the text doesn't appear too crisp.

Thanks for the reply. Any good cheaper alternative to the Imac retina display. Since don't want to spend a bomb on the LG 5k display.:)
