Fun with a new podcast! I find there is too much discussion about tooling here. So in my opinion you could avoid talking too much about software. Much more interested in stuff like: - The latest academic research in ux - Summarizations of important books/authors on design - The design process of different companies - What can ux learn from other design fields? (architects, furniture designers, fashion designers, graphic designers, product designers, etc) - If you have guests I’m much more interested in their work then their life story (not that i don’t care about people, but there are so many podcasts already doing that)
For me it changes. Right now: Typeradio, Design Details and Overtime.
Yeah i’ve heard this before about amazon’s strategy. It rings very false for me. I see a company that uses lots of dark patterns, only develop their product when it is forced by competition etc etc. and I mean anyone who used aws know what a horrid gui that is. For me this is just internal and external marketing.
I guess it makes a big difference in what field you work. If you are in the market/sell part of the product or in the product part. In my work onboarding is teaching already paying and trial users how our product works while using the product.
If you remember you were asked if you want to send anonymous usage stats when you installed macOS. Screenshot: https://derflounder.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/screen-shot-2014-10-16-at-7-08-39-pm1.png?w=480&h=360
I don’t disagree but I find it hard to find good resources on improving on your illustration skills. You can definitely practice more or less effective. I combined stuff from graphic design and classical drawing, but I would still be glad to find more good books and resources on illustration. Have bought a few, neither is good.
I agree, the modernist factory feel is cool.
I totally love it as well. After years with different notes apps I think notes have the perfect balance between low cognitive load and still being able to do the job.
But you can download the actual font from the page...?

I think maybe a more fitting title would be "the basics of color theory" or something like this. Nothing wrong with the basics but "ultimate" makes people who know the basics of color theory click and be a bit disappointed. :)
