I think if you were incompetent you wouldn't realize there was an issue at all.

I felt the same as you when I was at a job doing work I didn't believe in. When you're limited in creating not only "good" work, but fulfilling work, you begin to think you're incapable of creating good work at all. I agree with others in saying to just keep improving where you can!

Oh man, Mr. Penubra's 24-hour Bookstore. Ugh. Got a little too smug for my liking. At one point the hip, young, San Fran start-up folk were "nibbling on organic cookies" or some such. I cringed so hard I nearly cracked a rib.

Awesome sets—I use the 2B 10px Pencil brush for quickly sketching tight wireframes in Photoshop. Wish he would release brushes for Illustrator as well.
