I'm using a Dell P2715Q at home and work. I've been real happy with the clarity, scaling to 1440, and overall price. We ended up outfitting all our designers with them here at Skookum recently.

I went back to Fantastical. It's not the same in some areas, but an improvement over the native app.

Love your music and work!
Agree 100%. All I kept thinking was "So his projects are shit that he makes usable...but it's still shit?"
Quality and ability to find content is my biggest issue with the mass signups. Would love to be able to filter down types of content Show DN/Ask/ETC via the sidebar. Also, downvotes seem necessary at this points.
Network at local meetups.
Agencies and small-teams are fantastic to freelance for. They often need designers, will manage the client, and provide you with a client that pays on time and always comes back for more.
Two years into my career I quit my job on a whim and went out on my own with 1 freelance project. That year I doubled my salary and never imagined how successful I would be.
For me I networked locally through meetup groups, told everyone around me I was available for work, and found agencies/small teams that often needed freelancers, but couldn't hire full-timers.
Nowadays I don't freelance often, but find leads come from dribbble, twitter, just saying "hey im looking for extra work", asking those I know that freelance if they have overflow, and as always keeping my face visible in the local community.
I'm glad this comment got more upvotes than the actual post.

None whatsoever. I design at 1x and haven't had any problems. I sometimes run it at 2x, but prefer having more screen real estate.
