No, I'm asking lots of people in lots of different forums but thought I'd then compare their answers with designers and developers to try and see if there are any discernible differences.
Thanks - prob should have done a search before posting.
These are great, thanks. There's a list of other plugins here too
I'm @themikenagle
I always use it and get really annoyed by URL shorteners preventing me from seeing where I'm going. Thanks @Jonathan - that's a nicer solution that I'd never noticed on google
I love Geisha. Wish it covered Hacker News too
Cheers. I think I'll do some more research into this and maybe set up a research citations database for us all to use. Or at least add that to the list of products I want to make!
I think you should explain your thinking with each piece of work: why you took the decisions you did. The process of how you got where you did is as important as the final output to prospective employers.

I was at ITV and involved in that pitch process at the time and although I don't remember any of the other agencies doing any spec work either, I do remember listening to Made by Many tell the department boss they wouldn't do it and respecting them for it.
I was once asked to do some spec work for a pitch myself and told them no. Instead, I explained what I would do during my time there in order to produce the final deliverables. Mockups or wires are the end product of a lengthy process (or should be!) and we shouldn't devalue them any further in the client's eye by creating quick versions at pitch.
