My podcast co-host and I run a community for our podcast Design Life FM. There's little self promotion and most conversations are discussions around design or people looking for advice, sharing interesting resources etc.

There's just under 100 members so it's very tight knight too :)

Totally agree! Being able to communicate your design is a skill and important part of the process. A lot of missed opportunity happens when we fail to communicate and open up our process to invite others.

Totally agree that there's always room for improvement, and posting more of my behind the scenes work is something I'm trying to bring more into my process.

I do however think there's a time and a place for it – a portfolio for example probably isn't the best place to publish your shitty work.

I'm flattered you find all of my Dribbble work pixel perfect, as there's a few items on there that come either straight from my sketch book or are explorations and doodles.

Agree with the other points mentioned, but also think it might be worth considering how you can attract clients, as opposed to chase/find them.
