Same here. Moving objects with keyboard is super laggy. Especially when they are under groups.
So are humans. We die from stupid reasons.
Nothing is perfect.
For us, there is a master file (e.g. Core.sketch) and multiple files for experimentations.
So, whenever we work on a new feature for our product, we create a new file for the feature (e.g. Search-v0001.sketch). The version number increases as we make changes & iterate (e.g. Search-v1019.sketch).
As soon as we are happy with the feature, we add it to the master file. This way we know where the final version is and can keep an archive of how we got there.
PS. All files are kept in Dropbox. Master file is also kept on GitHub, so no one can ruin someone else's changes.
That's what I do. Iterate by duplicating artboards. Also using versioning when saving files (e.g. Library-v0012).
Short answer, no. I'm happy with this change.
First, copying a symbol from one file to another creates a new symbol rather than sync / replace it if it already exists.
This I agree with. I'm sure they'll find a better solution for this.
Second, not being able to edit a symbol in context is a serious pain in the ass for me.
I actually love this. I don't accidentally change a symbol and mess up with the rest of the page now. An easy way of switching between symbols and last page I was on would be great tho.
Finally, the whole usefulness of styles for me was that you could quickly see the changes on multiple artboards.
This one I love as well. No more accidentally changing hundreds of layers. I think they got inspired by Keynote with this feature.
Overall the biggest complain for me right now is the lack of smart resizing for symbols. Eg. I cannot make my buttons symbol because every button should have a different size and it seems like it's impossible to do that at the moment.
Yes, I have the upgraded (max.) one.
I've been using the first version of MacBook as my primary computer for awhile now. I can say this is the best Macbook I've owned so far. Sketch, Safari, Chrome, Dropbox, Tweetbot and some other apps are always open and not seeing any performance issues.
We've been using Fullstory for some time now, too. Definitely recommended.
The designs shown on the article are their most recent designs, but Atlassian didn't become Atlassian with those designs. Wish the author was giving examples from the past.
