Great job, you did an awful lot in the time given :)
My money is on performance impact – they saw the numbers and rolled-back the webfonts.
Well I'd be remiss if I didn't share my randomised Wes Anderson (Wes Randerson™) 404 page
Gorgeous photo, do you have a link?
It's a good body of work, and there's a lot of it and the design is successful in telling me that quite quickly, however the lack of hierarchy and dense information makes it hard to focus on and digest.
I'd see if there are two or three works that are more important you could prioritise those somehow, for example make them bigger and build the grid around them.
Other than that it's smart and feels well polished, the about page could be better - I really want to know more about the artist and get some idea or their personality, especially if I'm planning on sending them work.
Last year or so there was an excellent article about the politics of the ongoing redesign work at wikipedia. I can't find it through Google, but it sounded challenging to say the least.
I found a lot in your post http://www.sazzy.co.uk/putting-yourself-in-the-frame/ resonated with me, the internet can feel like a lonely hostile place, and once you're in that frame of mind it can be hard to find reasons to participate – Now you're 'back', can you talk a bit about what's different now, and what your experience with social media has been like since?
It's a photo, I think it's either a stitch of multiple images, or has been corrected for lens distortion, which is why it appears slight 'too nice'

ooh! Something I can answer.
This is ages old but on my personal site the 404 gives you a random quote from a Wes Anderson movie. (refresh a few times to see them all)
