It's a complete redesign of my app. I've shown some of the work in progress on DN before and got some great feedback that influenced the final result. What's in it:

• New "Dimmer" knob control as a centerpiece of app redesign. Drawn in Sketch;
• In-app demo video of gestures. Shot on iPhone and edited in FCPX;
• And a music video to show off the app. Completely automated using in-house app to move mouse pointer in sync with the soundtrack.

Thank you. The Apple trackpad demo is where I got the idea from. I dismissed the idea of showing the video inline because it would be hard to see the second part of the demo, where the pointer goes to the menu bar. Now it struck me that I don't have to show full desktop - I can zoom in :D

I think the hardest part of coming up with easter eggs is a balance of obscurity and discoverability. Sometimes it's just something that makes sense only for you or for someone you know personally. And sometimes it's a secret you want a random person to find eventually.

I added an easter egg to my Mac app back in 2011. It shows an xbox-like achievement after certain simple actions are performed. The first time someone told me about finding it was just last month (after over 4 years). It's silly but fun.

Not much going on here:

• HazeOver - for dimming background windows. Mentioned here and also I develop it.
• f.lux - for comfortably working late at nights.
• Dropbox - surprisingly i don't use it much, but I have to keep it for work.
