This is a long running, weekend-hack-turned-full-time-job project of mine. The site is currently at its 9th revision. In comparison, here's the previous revision, here's 4th, here's 3rd and here's a landing page from pre-beta times.

Thanks, Ivan. Glad you liked the notes from my OCD therapy sessions :)
Hamachi - heh, yeah. It was stressful as hell, but supremely exciting at the same time. The system is still alive, believe it or not.
Oh, hey, long time no speak. Hope all's well on your end. Thanks for +1.
Re: retina - screenshots are at their native resolution. I can in theory double the DPI, take a shot, but that's too much hassle just too appease people who aren't even using Windows :)
If I may also suggest, have a look at the whole blog - http://bvckup2.com/wip/ - there's quite a few interesting things there.
I wish it was for mac though :(
It would've been hardly notable then :)
Would you look at that! That's mine. Thanks for the plug, Kyle :)
http://api.dribbble.com was down. If the process stalls again, try hitting that URL, see if it loads at all.
Since when has Dribbble started being about productivity? :-)

Heh, I hear you.
I wish I picked something else 7 years ago when it started as a weekend project. It was a bastardization of "backupus vulgaris" and it was an overly bold experiment in quirky naming. In first couple of years I largely neglected the project, but that's when the name stuck, including search engine rankings and what not. Renaming is hard, but we are still going to change it though, because it is as you correctly observed is unpronounceable.
