Similar to this point on the use of imagery - the image of the hand holding the device doesn't look too clean to me (whereas the rest of the site does) and facebook offer free device hands that look really well that might sit in better: http://facebook.design/handskit - Personally I think that just the device with the product on the phone will work better and communicate a clearer message.
(Just realised they're not to be used for "commercial purposes without express written permission" who knows, maybe they'll give it ¯_(ツ)_/¯ . Or perhaps you can trick them into giving permission like they've managed to trick me into providing all of my data to be used for commercial purposes.
having used WordPress & Jeykll before I switched to Cactus (https://github.com/eudicots/Cactus) and found it nice and easy to get setup. Can host and easily deply the site to AWS so it's cheap too and you get to use a Django template system for portfolio pages and only have to manage one footer, header etc and linking to next and previous portfolio items is easy. Coding your own can become very tedious if you want to re-arrange projects and have a lot of them.

+1 for rescue time. just runs in the background and sends a report each week of what you've been spending your time on and gives a really good idea of productivity over time.

Having spent all my college years learning the Adobe suite, I made the switch to Sketch and it solved all of those problems for me. You can create artboards for any device you want to design for and you don't need to worry about size, dpi etc. And you can easily export for different screen resolutions. If you know the Adobe Suite already you'll pick it up pretty quickly and it'll save you tons of time, even in the short run.
If you want to stick to the Adobe suite, I'm sure you'll find answers for specific searches to the examples you've mentioned. The first result for 'what artboard size for iphone 7 photoshop' gives this: http://ivomynttinen.com/blog/ios-design-guidelines which seems pretty useful.
My advice would be to first go through this: https://developer.apple.com/ios/human-interface-guidelines/
and then get familiar with Sketch :) this book might help and although it costs money, it gets you a discount on Sketch.
And don't be afraid to start off with some templates. I'm sure there are some out there for Photoshop too which could give you a headstart.
Caveat: I'm a UI designer but not an iOS designer. This wireframe is the best I could do having skimmed through the guidelines - so perhaps there are some iOS designers out there working in Photoshop that can steer you better but if you're getting into web in general, Sketch is the way to go ;)
