How would multiple side borders be handled with this UI?
It seems like we’re toggling between multiple uniform borders or 4 singular border properties. This mightn’t scale well if we wanted multiple single borders. (e.g. two left borders).
I feel like the more Sketch–like solution, which is so often about simplicity and getting out of the way, would be to enable multiple Thickness values, similar to border radius CSS shorthand.
I prefer it when a designer’s titles refers to what they design
Nobody—W3C contributors notwithstanding—designs front-end. It seems to conflate process and medium with industry and role responsibility. Architects don’t call themselves concrete designers. HTML, CSS and Javascript are technologies which are a means to an end, but they are not what we’re designing — we should never lose sight of that.
A design process may be very different from one individual to the next. One may be more comfortable prototyping or designing directly in a browser, another may prefer to start off sketching on paper. But if what they’re designing is the same, the same title applies in my mind.
This is pretty incredible, a plugin similar in scope to apps like Avocode and services like Zeplin (albeit without the collaboration).
Thanks for the heads-up regarding some of the shortcomings of Mail Pilot 2, was considering buying it, will hold off for now.
Curious to see all the people happy with Airmail 2 — I find some issues with the typography, icons and general UI sluggishness (the list scrolling in particular) bug me enough I just can’t use it. Hard to put my finger on it, but it just feels as if the UI was closely modelled after Sparrow, but weighed down with extra bloat...
While the Adobe team is working on features that Sketch already has...
It’s also worth noting that while the Adobe team tries to bring Photoshop up to parity with some of the UI features Sketch has, they’ve begun to lose the stability high ground — at least, I’ve found Photoshop CC2015 to be slower and buggier than ever before, worse than Sketch 3 in my opinion, with it halting every 30 seconds and beach-balling.
For me, on top of all that, is the fact that in an effort to add Sketch-like features at a faster pace, Photoshop CC 2015 feels incredibly bloated and sluggish performance-wise, and many little irritating bugs are appearing.
Bohemian Coding sometimes gets a bit of criticism for the stability of Sketch, but it's remarkable how stable it is when you consider the size of the team and the pace of development, when a monolithic team like the Photoshop team fall into the same pitfalls and arguably ship an even less stable product in the process.
They’re signalling San Francisco is their UI typeface, seems Myriad Pro Light is still their Marketing typeface.
It didn't return an error, so looks like it may have worked. Cheers!
