    What if you end up not writing that case study?

    It would be better to just publish your work (screenshots, links & small texts), then add the case study later on. No need for a "Coming soon" message.

    And if you want people to notice the "recently added" case studies, maybe it would be interesting to add a direct link on your menu. Something like "Case studies" that will list all your projects with detailed explanation?
