To me, your quotes often come off as throwing people under the bus. If you're meaning to do something more like real journalism, there's a common practice of giving the people you're quoting a chance to comment or weigh in. Quoting tweets as if they were given the thought of published papers seems incredibly unfair. (As does judging Erika Hall's motivations because of something her cofounder said in an article once. These are real people.)

Also, you neatly fail to mention that the volume indicator bug was an edge case; when the Reduce Transparency accessibility option was turned on. It matters of course, but it's not like the OS shipped to everyone that way.
