A great filter to incorporate would be level of experience! I'm no longer on the junior side, but remember being incredibly frustrated having to sift through more senior job listings to find anything that was applicable to my experience.

I love this analogy! I'm going to try to use it to encourage more iteration around the office.

10 male speakers and 2 female speakers? That's the best you could do? :-/

Just a couple weeks ago, I had convinced my team to try out a GV Design Sprint. We were on day 1 and it was going pretty well. I browse the internets during lunch break and see a freshly published article: "Google Design Sprints are Snake Oil."

    smdh.

Has no one here been on twitter, or joked around before? I'm worried for you all.

Speaking of upcoming features, I hope deadlines/reminders are on the list!

I was teasing, bro. It's unfortunate Designer News doesn't support emojis. (also mansplaining, lol. maybe your best job hunt isn't others' best job hunt)

    • No goals or ambiguous goals like "make more money"
    • Product owners writing stories with zero requirements and then asking "when will this be done?" repeatedly
    • No concrete deadlines, or if there are deadlines, they are extremely rushed
    • Lack of strategy behind the overall product which makes designing for it feel like sword fighting in the dark
    • General communication problems, especially with feedback ("I don't like it," "What don't you like about it? Keep in mind we're trying to appeal to our users")
    • No shared resource storage, which leads to a lot of forwarding files around, people getting upset when said file hasn't been forwarded to them because "they should see it too"
    • Power struggles between the design team & the marketing team
    • Marketing team unconcerned with usability issues and thirsting for more leads at any cost

I've experienced these problems at most places I've worked.
