Agree. I do think that prototyping with separate tools is not always ideal with an actual project with a deadline. I find this way of working more effective for projects that you don't plan to rethink all kinds of interaction.
I've been a big fan of prototyping directly in Xcode myself and stumbled upon this article by Thoughtbot about the benefits. I think it especially works well for the more straight forward interactions. Worth considering.
AppCoda is a great way to quickly learn different aspects of iOS development, like Xcode, Storyboards, Core Data, etc. And also integrating with services like Parse. They were of great use for me! Http//appcoda.com
For a more structured way to learn Swift, I personally found Treehouse the best option.
Nope! I wish. Just posted it here. It is made in Rotterdam though!
Sadly these announcements force us to be highly critical in using new digital services. Especially if you have to rely on them. It doesn't only apply to small start-ups. Companies like Adobe, Facebook and now also Dropbox have a record in launching new products with huge fanfare, to just kill them only a few moments later.
Hi Ethan, thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question. Impressed by the 8 week time frame. Looking forward to reading the new book.
How do you organize writing a book? Especially as you seem to do client work at the same time. I like the details (for example blocking certain days, creating an outline, working with a to-do list).
Do you mean something like this? (Honest question, I'm not sure)
https://github.com/timuric/Content-generator-sketch-plugin
I have used that one to generate stuff with external data.
Promising. Combine this with Fluid for Sketch, and it nearly works the same as Storyboards from Xcode. So whose going to make that 'convert to Xcode plug-in'? :-)
In other news: there goes the USP of Adobe Project Comet.
