I was responsible for the previous Node.js logo, and was looking forward to seeing where the refreshed identity would go. Some of the work I had seen was quite nice. Much to my dismay, this feels not different enough, designed by committee and worse? It's now a VERY hard identity to work with.

As someone that has to compile lots of sponsors on collateral from time to time, the additional gradients and complicated stacking make for a headache.

I feel what (the foundation) might have focused on was a new treatment for the brand, additional assets and revised messaging.
