I used to think just like you, until I actually started using git. I'm in no way a pro, but just using a basic branch workflow can really help you with your development. It makes it much easier to try stuff out (and reverting if something goes wrong), and keeping the development branch separate from the live one makes it super simple to hotfix bugs in the production environment. Plus, it makes the switch easier once you start working in a team, or just on a collaborative project.
So, it might feel like it's unnecessary, but I would really recommend you to try it out!
So, let me get this straight. Adobe acknowledges that this is not the correct/expected behavior for the ESC key, but in order to assert consistency across apps, they decide to implement it anyway. Why on earth wouldn't you do the opposite, and implement the (more logical) opposite in IL/ID instead..? Weeeeell, thanks.
