This is rad. I enjoy the creative effort put into the post.
I was always a fan of designspiration.net which came well before Pinterest. ffffound was great but searching on it would get NSFW reallllly quick.
Thanks for your input!
Thank you so much for your responses. I appreciate you taking the time out to answer my questions! In an attempt to elevate design's role in our process I am trying to talk to as many product designers as I can to learn about how they work. If you'd be interested in talking more I'd love to connect with you via email etc.
That sounds great. It doesn't sound hectic to me! I think your process is smart. It's something the designers on my team are trying to advocate for. Can I ask on your team are the designers involved in roadmap planning? And does your team build in time for user validation and feedback before you commit to new feature ideas?
Thank you for the feedback and kind words :)
Only thing Dribbble has ever asked of it’s user is, “What are you working on now?” You’re interpretation of that is whatever you want as long as it fits within the guidelines of their handbook.
I use Atomic.io, which has a great setup for both static and granular prototypes. Atomic's project structure is a huge help to design new features across multiple platforms for someone like myself who works on both iOS and Android (phone and tablet). Works in the Chrome browser (no native app yet), copy & paste support for Sketch/Photoshop, use hot-spots for static prototyping or use the motion timeline for more granular complex animations between interactions. I can get instant feedback from my PM or Devs with commenting right in the prototype and each team member can add the prototype to their home screen's through the shared link. I used/still use Invision as well I've dipped my toe into the waters of Pixate, Proto.io, Flinto and Origami by Fb. So far Atomic has everything I need to design our mobile experience at Sprout Social.
Motion is essentially what Atomic.io has already accomplished successfully. I'm very happy to see InVision has been listening to the feedback of mobile designers. They are making decent strides in this area and Motion could push them as one of the better options for mobile prototyping. As someone who works on native apps across multiple platforms InVision still makes it hard to present new feature work across iOS and Android because of the way they force you to choose a template for each individual project. I'll be really eager to test out Motion and see where it fits in the growing list of prototyping apps.
