He did explicitly state that he expected a cut to begin with, which I noted above.
I should clarify the relationship: he runs a small web marketing business and, as such, his clients some times need/want a website built. When I worked for him, I handled that. When I left, he ceased providing the service because he felt designing and building websites took too much time and didn't make him enough money to warrant being part of his offerings.
When I left, he and I had a tentative agreement that he would send any design work my way and I would give him a cut of the profit. We just never discussed how much.
I felt that was a pretty good deal for both of us. He gets a decent little chunk of change for introducing me here and there, and I get some clients without looking for them.
I asked him how he felt about 10% because I wanted to approach this as a business partnership, and not a one time deal. Making sure he is happy with his cut, to me, seemed like a good idea to keep the business coming my way....not an indication that I am unsure of myself.
Hi Lior,
I apologize.
Given DN's lingering spam infiltration, a post full of generic seeming praise, from brand-new accounts, of something being sold is bound to set off alarm bells.
That's fair. I'm just providing the info for others to do with it what they wish.
Final edit: putting the pitchfork away, nothing to see here.
I imagine it was a neat project to work on, but, ???
Stripe just kills it every time, I am always so envious!
It may be helpful to add some kind of a "See all" link or to make it more clear what is happening as I hadn't realized until you said this that I could turn on multiple filters at once.
I'm gonna go rogue here and post my own:
In all honesty, I doubt any of my past clients have ever even seen it. Most of my freelance work has been with small businesses relatively unconcerned with design and come through referrals.
