At Facebook it happens with a video stream on their page.
As far as I can tell Facebook has had plenty of celebrities come to their offices to do a live Q&A session.
He is 100% right, they did do it for the attention. They even said so..
What bugs me the most is that they put this into their portfolio without mentioning it's unsolicited. This makes potential clients think they actually build this, which is misleading.
Isn't that what IMAP does?
I'm sorry but what am I supposed to see? So far all I can tell is that it's a silly generator.
Am I the only one that wonders why his new site is such a big deal? Yes it's well designed but he seems to redesign it every other month and this always happens. Not a rant, just an observation.
I'm currently using Bootstrap to build an internal tool, I'm mostly a backend developer so using something like this saves me a lot of time messing with CSS and HTML. I personally like that it standardises some UI components, it's also easily tweakable using my own stylesheets.
I enjoy using it to quickly get UI's up and running and focus more time on developing actual features.
They are using the deprecated version of mysql_*, why not PDO or mysqli?
