Please see this updated CodePen, it is any better? http://codepen.io/mjtweaver/pen/BNmrvr
I read another article recently with someone else having the same gripe as yourself.
I personally like it, I think it's a nice UX touch, but I guess it's marmite functionality. Thanks for your comment.
Really nice design.
The example I gave isn't the best, I tried to give a simple overview without going into so much detail it's impossible to see the results.
I've tried following the BEM principles over a large build and the difference in the amount of CSS written is large.
Maybe the article doesn't sell it as much as I would have liked, but I would recommend giving it a go, and giving me your honest feedback.
Apologies if the article is written poorly, it's a skill I am trying to acquire.
As for the BEM stops you from nesting paragraph, maybe it should say "when following the principles of BEM, it stops you free deep nesting." I may update that on the post.
And again, you're probably right on the maintainability aspect also, something I may consider writing about further within that post. Thanks for your feedback.
Fair point, I've re-phrased that. Thanks for pointing it out, much appreciated.
