Totally agree with this. I know what "the power of a static site generator" is because I built my site on Gatsby/Netlify, but that also means I don't need this service. The target market should be people that want something fast, simple and secure but don't necessarily care what "static site generator" means.

p.s. Love the website! The black/white simplicity perfectly matches the value prop in the header

Neither of these websites invented the concept and Lukas' implementation is quite different from the site you linked to. Nothing is original in web design at this point so maybe try and be a little more generous with your commentary.

This might help get you excited about animating with React https://www.learnwithjason.dev/let-s-learn-framer-motion

I've been writing CSS a bit longer than that and had exactly the same concerns. I started out in React writing Sass via CSS Modules which at least had some familiarity but now I'm enjoying using Emotion. I found giving up my "expertise" very hard at the beginning but React—or the concept of encapsulated components—is not going anywhere. Better just embrace it and use the CSS skills you already have to keep moving forwards rather than take a step back and use some GUI to do stuff that somebody else will still have to turn into code anyway.

Definitely should just learn React if he can already write HTML/CSS/JS, React is awesome :)

It's not really a tool for UI animations, you can't control any animation settings at a layer level, only page level.

Agreed. When you consider a transatlantic flight can produce over half a terabyte of data and that doesn't really take into consideration that non-data processing, mechanical complexities then this statement does seem slightly absurd. I would guess that my washing machine is probably a better comparison :)

Thanks! I knew I wouldn't have time to checkout all the books on your list but 3 I can manage :)

Great post. Andrei, it looks like you read a ton of books that are super relevant to designers. Would you mind telling us which, if any, you highly recommend and why?

I think you are talking about something different. A design system can be independent of the software you are using to design and might be used by people from all departments of an organisation. This is a design system: https://polaris.shopify.com/ and the OP is talking about using "Invision Design System Manager" to unify all the examples, guidelines, assets etc. in one place. It's not really about sketch vs figma vs xd or whatever software people are using to create the assets/prototypes. A design system these days would typically link to code examples as well and maybe even embed react components from something like storybook.
