I'm not buying these 'stay and be part of the change' comments. And the ones that are suggesting that by doing this you're 'running away' from issues. No. You are refusing to support an a toxic environment. It is not the onus of the victim to educate others. It's a real shame to see these types of responses. I've foind DN to be very similar, and agree. Do you have Twitter? It's a good place to find community. Similar issues but a much larger community looking at those issues instead of offering the same suggestions as above.
For the record, I'm a non-binary designer.
It's not a victims responsibility to fix a problem, tbh.
Tiller looks pretty promising.
There's a wider understanding of UX as well as HCD. Accessibility is very important when it comes to those things. Has to be taken seriously, in my opinion, to make a good product.
Wake up. Smoke. Freshen up. Dress. Commute. Coffee. Smoke. Emails. Read work priorities. Stand up. Work.
I think showing your personality is important, but headshots are kind of naff. Your resume should be able todisplay who you are and what you do without that. In your interview is where you really want to translate your skills and who you are.
There's plently of opportunity to learn about the field in Melbourne. I've done a degree in Visual Communication (Design), a Cert IV in Design and a User Experience Design course with General Assembly. My degree included subjects related to illustration, typography, multimedia design and print design.
I'm a product designer nowdays, with skills and knowledge in UX and UI, as well as being an illustrator.
I'd say 70% of my skills are self-taught, however.
Agree. Overlapping them is a sin.
Having said that I just recently took all the stickers off mine.
This is super damn exciting.

I spend much more time talking about design on Twitter, in different Slack communities, and irl at meetups.
For me, this format doesn't work well for discussion - but I might just be pining for vBulletin forum days.
It's as much the content uploaded (or lack thereof) as it is about how form is not necessarily following function. Example:
I also think the site is trying to do and be too many things at once. Is it a community for discussion? And/or is it link posting and upvoting platform to seperate the wheat from the chaff in our noisy industry? Is it a podcast? Is it a job board? If it's going to be multiple things, perhaps it's there should be some sort of dashboard or homepage rather than trying to force discussion to be the carrier?
Who is DN? What do they want, why do they exist? What are you trying to achieve? Why is this site any different or better than using Discord, Twitter, Slack, etc - what's the USP? Looks like it's mostly been an UI redesign but there's no content or community or product strategy.
