This series by Luke Wroblewski is worth a watch (if you haven't already).
This is rad, thanks for sharing!
Here's an option I've been working on using Material Icons: https://codepen.io/tg/pen/RgRVNx?editors=1100
Not a round checkbox but you can use whichever icon you like.
I am keen to find a accessible approach which can be easily resized and colours can be changed. I'll fork this and try the same approach using SVG instead of an icon font.
Regarding http://wtfforms.com/ it seems the input must be wrapped in a label, that approach feels a little weird. However, using svg as a background image seems cool.
Any feedback appreciated.
So what happens when you need a label?
Hey Ollie,
Congrats on launching Milanote. Excellent work.
Would love to hear your thoughts on whether designers should learn how to code ;)
In particular, where do you think designers should focus their efforts?
At the moment I'm torn between spending time learning and keeping up with new tech and frameworks (e.g PostCSS, Webpack, Angular, React) on the one side and UX (e.g research, user validation) on the other, not to mention the proliferation of new design tools.
For product designers, how much "code" is beneficial/realistic to learn?
How would you articulate the responsibilities of a designer vs. developer?
How is the product designer role changing as tools become more fragmented?
Hope these questions make sense.
Thanks for the AMA!
The usTwo guide is useful to see some of the issues which arise in the translation process: PIXEL PERFECT PRECISION HANDBOOK 3
"Pixel perfection" can probably be better described as a design which is consistent and intentional.
E.g: – Are the design elements on a page consistent? – Are the pixels on the screen intentional or there by miscommunication or oversight?
Obviously collaboration and feedback are super useful. Ideally you would capture feedback from your team members on the quality of your tools, processes and team interaction. This feedback would inform your decisions about how to invest in your tools, processes and team interaction/professional development.
Hehe, yeah I was referring to Deb's comment. Sorry if I replied to your comment!
Uh-oh, you used the F-Word. Don't forget they're not fonts.
