I use the iPad Pro and Affinity Photo for my photography. It's really useful.
Sadly, I feel like I haven't really found a good UI design tool for iPad Pro that fits with my workflow.
Here's the thing....
Programs like XD, Figma, Affinity Designer/Photo and Webflow are making design more accessible because they are cross-platform. Not only are they going to make dents in Sketch, they are going to make dents in Mac usage for designers.
I switched over to PC about a year ago for freelance work and haven't looked back. I'm still just as effective and efficient a UI/Product designer/Photographer as I ever was.
With Figma and Webflow, specifically, it might even be possible to be a full-fledged UI/Product designer with just a Chromebook.
Also, an oldie but a goodie https://codepen.io
I love using Sketch and I have very few knocks against it.
THE BIGGEST THING I WANT: MAKE A WINDOWS 10 VERSION
Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo, Figma, Invision Studio, Adobe XD, Webflow, Gravit are all able to work on a PC (even if it's only a web version). Sketch should follow suit. We no longer live in a world where UI design is exclusive to Mac users
Well, out of the tools you mentioned, Webflow definitely gives you the most freedom to implement YOUR design and not a template. It just requires you alter your workflow a little. You also just have to know the principles of front-end development....not the languages themselves. Yes, there's a bit of a learning curve, but Webflow has excellent documentation and tutorials.
So I hear you and I've felt exactly the same way. However, if you don't want engineers to be in the middle you have to do it all yourself. In my experience Webflow has been the best tool to easily design and build front-end experiences without sacrificing creative freedom.
I'd prefer they focus that energy on allowing me to export Adobe Comp layouts on iPad to Adobe XD on desktop.
Good stuff, Nelson! I love the Webflow sitebuild streams.
I think this portfolio was really well done.
Haha, so funny you said that. I was just thinking it looks like Sketch with Affinity's illustration style. It looks good though...I'm down to give it a try.
