    Not seeing that in the real world. However, as the IT world is male dominated and, for whatever reason, IT people (especially coders) seem to prefer it, it would appear that men prefer darkmode.

    Personally, I hate it (tho my partner, prefers it on her phone). I find it harder to read unless it's done really well, and having a dark screen greatly increases background reflections which further make reading the screen more difficult. Generally, I consider it is a terrible UX.

    Darkmode was devised by coders working in darkened rooms, often at night. In that situation it's logical. However, in brightly lit offices or outside, it makes no sense whatsoever.

    You can use calc. I've been experimenting a bit with it lately. Here's an example:

    h1 { font-size:calc(48px + 6 * ((100vw - 320px) / 1920)); line-height:calc(48px + 24 * ((100vw - 320px) / 1920)); }

    It does take some mucking around to find numbers that work for you across all devices.

    Yup. I got no idea what he's on about. The only change i'm seeing on desktop is the icons. And on mobile, nothing.

    I find some apps haven't done it as well, even some Apple apps.

    I'm not a big fan of full dark mode at the best of times, tho. I like it for peripheral things, like the menu bar and the dock. And for things that don't require a long time looking at because dark mode always increases reflection.

    So, prefer light mode for browsing, email, reading, coding, writing. Fortunately most of those apps support overriding dark mode. Thus, I have a mixed environment.

    I considered this, but as a WordPress developer it is an important platform for communicating with users of not only my own stuff, but those of other developers. Which also makes it also a significant marketing platform.

    Articles like this annoy me. They make it sound like bad design is new to Apple, that's Apple has lost it's way lately. And worse, they make it sound like bad design at Apple is a post-Steve Jobs things.

    It's not.

    Antennagate was a major hardware design flaw championed by Steve "It's the way you're holding it" Jobs.

    The removal of colour - one of the major design elements - from the OS X interface was well under way under Jobs' watch.

    That's just but two. I'm sure plenty of other people will have their own design peeves from the Steve Jobs era.

    Bad design is not new to Apple. It began at least 10 years ago.

    Shows as $30.99 AUD for me!!!!! Insane

    I'll keep using Alfred's clipboard manager which is pretty good - and I get all the other Alfred features.
