I think the reason why Notion uses "magic links" is to verify your email address.

Yup. You can create them yourself if you want. Hit 'A' for Artboards. In the dropdown select "Custom". In the bottom of the screen there's a button called "Create Custom Size". Here you can add them. You just need to update them yourself as sizes change. :-)
