They show different brands/apps in those device frames every time you refresh the site. Neat!!!

  • Posted to ASK DN: How does your team handle folder structure and naming conventions?, Aug 05, 2016

I work in an agency and we have lots of projects going on the same time. Now, that's say

    • First three characters of client/company name = XXX
    • First two characters of project/brand name = YY
    • Our own project ID = 1234
    • My initial = RC

This is an example of our naming convention for a wireframe file saved today: XXXYY-1234-wireframes-160805-RC.pdf

And this will be saved on Server/Client/XXXXX/YYYYY/WireframesandIA/

I actually don't like it but looks like it works... Really want to know what's everyone's approach!

  • Posted to Ask DN: Transgender on a gender question for a form?, in reply to Mikael Staer , Jul 29, 2016

Sex refers to the anatomical (male/female) whereas Gender is what one identifies as (male/female/"other") and can be fluid.

I've worked on a healthcare-related project and my medical writer coworker also taught me that. We ended up using Sex with two options (male & female.)

When I see their first solution - using overall usage pattern based on statistics to create default or eliminate options - I can't help but thinking about "design is political" and "when you are prioritizing something, you are de-prioritizing others at the same time"

    Hi @Samuel !!!

I always enjoy reading your teardowns and I have learned so much from them! Thank you! Your side notes broader my perspective too, and this one particularly makes me giggle more...

I haven't tried Apple Music yet, but by going through your teardown, I recognized that the bubbles of music genres are the same while I tried out the online platform from Beats Music itself. I think it's a playful and enjoyable process and maybe that's why Apple decided to carry over with it. Unfortunately, it just doesn't make more sense in this new context.

How do you think about the bubble approach itself? Is it not benefit to the context of Apple Music? Or is it the UI around the bubbles more likely to be the problem?
