Is the limit of 10 registrations each day only made for non-invite signups or for every kind of signup?

  • Posted to Ask DN: Any plans to move DN to it's own domain?, Mar 20, 2013

The question is what domain you could take. I think it would be interesting to hear some ideas from the community here.

I wouldn't say that Forrst is "dead" because I got great and helpful feedback at Forrst.

Yes, I know about that. But Forrst is used by designers and I wanted to ask all designers around here what network they like best.

I've just had a look at the homepage and there are many creative posts. But I think that ZURB needs to make Forrst more interesting. At the moment there's no reason for me to get an account at Forrst again because I'm very satisfied with Dribbble. I also think that Forrst is great for developers because they can get feedback on their code there. As Alexander said above, Dribbble is mostly used as a portfolio and Forrst is mostly used to get feedback on work.

I agree with you. The quality of Dribbble shots is better than the quality of Forrst posts. But as you said you can get great feedback at Forrst. And because of that I think that Forrst is great for people that are getting started in design or development. I also think that Forrst is great for developers because it offers the function to share code and get help if something isn't working correctly.

If you want to get constructive Feedback on your design work, Forrst was a great platform for that. Why "was"? Because I can't say how it is like at the moment because I canceled my account. Forrst at first was a project of Kyle Bragger and then it was sold. At the moment it belongs to ZURB.

I totally agree. Forrst was great for getting feedback on you design work, but in the last months it was pretty bad. That was the reason why I canceled my account. Since it was acquired by ZURB, it's getting better and better, but for now, there's no reason to get an account at Forrst for me. I think Forrst has to make their platform more interesting.

By the way: If you're looking for an invite to Dribbble, you can check out draft.im, a nice little site where people that are looking for an invite to Dribbble can showcase their work to get one. And if you haven't signed up for a prospect account at Dribbble, you should do that first.

  • Posted to Ask DN: Do you design mobile first?, Feb 26, 2013

I personally design for a computer first because this is the platform most people use. When this is finished, I fix the problems on mobile devices.
